Licenses/Certifications: Michael obtained his license as a Certified Public Accountant from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy in 2004. Rising Star Consulting Services obtained its license as a Public Accounting Firm from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy in 2006. He is also an Authorized IRS E-File Provider.
Degrees: Michael obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Auburn University in 1996 and his Master of Science Degree in Management Information Systems with a concentration in Accounting from Georgia College and State University in 2002.
Professional Associations: Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA).
Board Memberships/Professional Organizations: Michael currently serves as the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair of the Alumni Board of Georgia College and State University's (GCSU) Alumni Board of Directors and Board Member and Treasurer of Covenant Community Development Resource Center, both IRS section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. He is also a member of the GCSU Foundation Investment Committee, 2010 Leadership Macon graduate, and a member of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.
Practice Focus: Michael's current focus is in the following areas: individual and business income tax preparation, IRS and State Audit Representation, Part-Time CFO Services, Business Formation, Non-Profit Organizations, and Fee-Only Financial Planning.
Objective: Michael founded Rising Star Consulting Services, Inc. in 2003 with the primary objective of assisting individuals achieve their God given visions and dreams through self-employment. This objective served a dual purpose as he was employed and wanted to acheive self-employment status. In January 2010, he achieved his objective and became self-employed. In the process of acheiving this objective, Michael came to realize that whether his current or prospective clients have self-employment aspirations or not, they want someone that they can trust to handle their multitude of financial affairs. This is the charge that he has decided to take on full force.
